Samira Rguibi

A Leader in Higher Education

"The interaction between students on opposite sides of the ocean was the most exciting experience for our Moroccan students of English. This virtual exchange project helps the students to develop new intercultural and communicative skills. The participating students had the opportunity to connect with KSU peers over important issues impacting women both in Morocco and the USA. I believe leadership is more about awareness-raising, capacity building and training rather than simply a gift."

Dr. Samira Rguibi has been a professor of English at Hassan II University of Casablanca, teaching and conducting research in the Faculty of Letters at the Ben M'sik campus since 1987. Dr. Rguibi served as the Chair of the Department of English (2015-2021), and in that capacity has contributed to developing international projects with other universities, programs, and institutes. She currently serves as the co-Principal Investigator of the Stevens Initiative grant, supporting women’s empowerment and virtual exchange. In addition to her expertise in Moroccan and American cultures, Dr. Rguibi is a scholar of linguistics, having earned her doctorat d’état from Mohamed V University in Rabat. An international speaker and author of many publications, her research focus engages Moroccan regional phonological variations, pedagogy, leadership theories, and EFL issues.
