Aicha Ech-Chenna

Aicha Ech-Chenna is a strong-willed woman who set off on a long and stupendous journey of empowerment through sustainable and committed social work. Labeled as the Moroccan “Mother Teresa”, Aicha Ech-Chenna has vowed to defend the cause of single mothers against all odds. Aicha Ech-Chenna was born in the ‘New Medina’ of Casablanca and spent her childhood in Marrakech. She returned to Casablanca in 1953 and enrolled in ‘Foch and Joffre High School’. In 1960, Aicha Chenna started her training as a state nurse in “L’Ecole d’Etat d’Infirmière”. In the period between 1962 to 1980, she was a social education assistant in the public sector. In 1972, Aicha Chenna joined the National Unit Moroccan Women in Casablanca.

عائشة الشنا امرأة قوية الإرادة، انطلقت في رحلة طويلة ورائعة في العمل الاجتماعي المستدام والملتزم. ألتزمت عائشة الشنة، التي يسمونها "الأم تيريزا" المغربية،
سنة1960 ،بالدفاع عن قضية الأمهات العازبات. ولدت عائشة الشنا في "المدينة الجديدة" بالدار البيضاء وأمضت طفولتها في مراكش. عادت إلى الدار البيضاء سنة 1953 وسجلت في
مدرسة "فوش وجوفر الثانوية".
بدأت عائشة الشنا تدريبها كممرضة رسمية في "مدرسة الممرضات الحكومية". في الفترة من 1962 إلى 1980 ،اشتغلت كمساعدة تربوية اجتماعية في القطاع العام. في سنة 1972 ،التحقت
في عائشة الشنا بالوحدة الوطنية للمرأة المغربية بالدار البيضاء.

In 2009, Chenna was awarded the world’s largest faith-based prize for entrepreneurship, the ‘Opus Prize’, for her life achievement
as a social activist; the prize honors her sustained efforts to promote the rights of single mothers to lead a decent life. The ‘Opus
Prize’ is awarded to uncelebrated heroes all over the world who face the challenge of solving the most persistent social problems.
It aims at encouraging outstanding entrepreneurial enterprises that demonstrate an abiding faith to combat intractable global issues
like poverty, illiteracy, hunger, disease, and injustice by empowering the less privileged.

في سنة 2009 حصلت الشنا على أكبر جائزة دينية في العالم لريادة الأعمال، "جائزة أوبوس"، لإنجازاتها ومبادراتها
كناشطة اجتماعية. كانت هذہ الجائزة تكريما لجهودها المتواصلة لتعزيز حقوق الأمهات العازبات في عيش حياة
كريمة.
تمنح "جائزة Opus "للأبطال غير المشهورين من جميع أنحاء العالم الذين يتحدون المشكلات الاجتماعية الأكثر
إلحاحا.
تهدف أيضا إلى تشجيع المشاريع الريادية المتميزة التي تظهر إيمانا راسخا لمكافحة القضايا العالمية المستعصية مثل
الفقر والأمية والجوع والمرض والظلم.
