Fadila Anwar is one of the current chief editors responsible for the news department in the Moroccan television channel 2M. She is a graduate of the Higher Institute of Journalism in Rabat as well as the Institute of Audiovisual Communication in Paris, where she went through a year-long training immediately before starting her career in television in 1989. When 2M first launched in the same year, she was there, and since then, she has been an immensely influential journalist and tv presenter. She is most remembered for her show “Waqai’”, a show which tackled issues affecting Moroccan society such as: rape, murder and prostitution, and which were at the time almost unspeakable taboos as far as television was concerned. In her 32 years of work in the field of television, Fadila Anwar has done it all: hosting, interviewing, news coverage in cities, distant villages and areas struck by natural disasters.
